Norinco 98 - 12ga

The Norinco 98 is a pump-action shotgun with a single rising locking lug, modeled directly after the Remington 870. When the bolt is moved forward feeding the round in the receiver, the bolt face is stopped by the breech face, however the bolt base continues forward. The front of the sloped area on the base engages the front of the pivoting locking lug, forcing it into the recess in the top of the receiver, locking the action. When the trigger is pulled, the connector acts on the sear, releasing the hammer. On forward pivoting of the hammer, it contacts a lever, lifting the connector, and disconnecting the trigger which is reset by releasing the trigger. When the pump is brought back again, it depresses the shell stop, allowing a round to be ejected from the tube into the receiver. On forward movement, the slide forces the carrier upwards while the bolt moves forward, feeding the round into the chamber.
