The TT-33 is a recoil operated modified browning link delayed firearm in 7.62x25. The initial recoil moves the slide and barrel assembly rearwards as they are interlocked with lugs on the top of the barrel and inside top on the slide. As the barrel moves rearward, the top of the link pivots on the bottom of the barrel, while the bottom of the link pivots on the crosspin integral to slide stop. This motion disengages the locking lugs by lowering the rear of the barrel, and limits the rearward movement of the barrel. After the barrel has unlocked, the slide continues its rearward movement. The casing is then ejected when it makes contact with the ejector that's the left arm of the drop in fire control group. The fire control group is unique in that it can be removed from the frame as one piece when field stripped. It consists of relatively few parts; The frame, hammer, side plate, hammer spring, disconnector, sear and various associated pins. The sear is actuated by an arm that is spring loaded that connects to the trigger by means of two trigger bars that span each side of the magazine well. The Tokarev is a rather convention handgun with the exception of the FCG design, with many holdovers from Browning's designs.
